Speed sketches.  One of the benefits of mobile digital media is that you can take it everywhere.  I do most sketchwork on metro (traveling to and from the office).  I use the time to do speed portraits of strangers–using the iPhone keeps this work discreet and allows the unsuspecting to hold a natural pose.  (although, my favorite models are still the ones who are sleeping. )  Recently, I’ve been challenging myself with 30 secs-2 minute sketches before i move on to the next “model”, though most of the work was produced in 5 minutes or less.  (the more developed the piece, the more time i had with them on our commute…:-))
